The charts can be calculated by hand with an ephemeris and a Regiomontanus Table of Houses. when I learned astrology in the late 1980s and early 1990s, I calculated all of my charts by hand.

It is not a matter of preference, really. Astrology is the mother of all divinatory arts and it should be learned where it *can* be learned. I would be very gratified to train several people in Africa to the level of professional horary astrologers. Africa, after all, is the mother of humanity, and her peoples deserve to study the highest philosophies. And there is none higher than astrology.
